Delia Parker-Mims: Leadership Driving Results

  • Voter Turn Out

Under the leadership of Delia Parker-Mims, Denton County was the only county, of the seven most populated Texas counties, to increase Democratic voter turn out in the 2024 general election.

  • Resources to Municipal Races

Through Delia’s direction in 2022, the DCDP was able to flip the mayoral seat in Flower Mound and averted a MAGA takeover of the Lewisville ISD school board. Focused volunteers, messaging, funding, and outreach at the municipal level was key to this success.

  • Motivated Volunteers

Denton County Democrats volunteers nearly tripled voter contact since Delia Parker-Mims was elected in 2021. In 2024 more than 130,000 voter contacts were made for the presidential election alone, an unprecedented increase over previous DCDP leadership.

🗳️ Increased Democratic Votes

Denton County stood out as the ONLY major county in Texas with a Democratic vote increase between 2018 and 2022 and they did it again in the 2024 election.

🎯 Drove New Voter Registration

DCDP’s voter registration program reached 27,000 potential new Democratic voters in 2022.

Added Democratic Candidates

Every state legislative race featured a Democratic candidate in 2024; the first time in decades for Denton County. Delia Parker-Mims inspired, coached, and supported Democrats to run and give voters choices and reasons to hit the polls.
